Measuring the change we create
Two years in, our programs are delivering real, measurable impact across Ghana’s schools, communities, and career pathways. Here’s what we’ve achieved so far.

All ProgramsStories of real change
From classrooms to communities, our programs are creating lasting impact across Ghana. Here are just a few of the stories that remind us why this work matters.
High School Climate Debate Tournament
GROW-GREEN has initiated climate debate tournament since 2024, mentoring students on climate policy argumentation and stewardship.
Grassroots Climate Resilience in Rural Communities
Through participatory workshops, we helped rural communities develop practical disaster preparedness plans and sustainable waste management systems.
Equipping Youth for the Green Economy
Our career guidance programs have connected hundreds of young Ghanaians with mentors, internship opportunities, and professional networks in the green economy.
High School Climate Debate Tournament
In 2024, GROW-GREEN served as the voluntary resource person for the Eastern Region Climate Change Debate Tournament- one of Ghana’s most prominent youth-led climate advocacy events.
The tournament brought together over 200 students from 12 secondary schools across the Eastern Region. Our team provided structured mentorship sessions on climate science, policy argumentation, and critical thinking.
Students left with deeper understanding of their role as climate advocates, practical public speaking skills, and a strengthened sense of agency to drive change in their communities.
Grassroots Climate Resilience in Rural Communities
Across more than 15 rural communities in three regions of Ghana, GROW-GREEN facilitated participatory workshops designed to help local residents understand and respond to the climate risks they face every day.
Rather than delivering top-down lectures, our approach was deeply participatory. We worked with community leaders, women’s groups, and youth organisations to map local climate vulnerabilities and develop community-owned disaster preparedness plans.
The workshops resulted in practical, locally owned disaster preparedness plans and sustainable waste management systems that communities continue to operate independently.
Equipping Youth for the Green Economy
Ghana’s transition to a green economy is creating new career pathways — but too many young people don’t know they exist or how to access them. GROW-GREEN’s career development program was designed to change that.
Over the past two years, we have run structured career mentorship sessions connecting over 300 young people with professionals working in renewable energy, environmental policy, sustainable agriculture, climate finance, and green construction.
Working with more than 20 partner organisations, we have helped young people navigate the job market, build professional profiles, and access opportunities that would otherwise have been out of reach.
